The Eternal Message

Everyone loves to have interaction with those whose principles and ways of doing things do not change. This makes them able to predict outcomes and thereby make life easier for themselves. They know where to thread and what not to do.

The interesting thing is that the Creator is the most constant factor in all existence. He is an Eternal being with eternal principles and Words. He declared in Malachi 3:6 that “I am YAHWEH and change not”.

Throughout Scripture, He made promises, spoke words, initiate covenants, brought forth ideas, and gave eternal commands. In Him, there is no variation. This same attribute was declared by Yeshua and his disciples. There are many places where they spoke words regarded as ‘message you heard from the beginning’.

One of such messages is, “that we should love one another” (1 John 3:11). Yeshua and his disciples knew very well that the demand to love one another was as old as the creation of man itself. Since YAHWEH is love, love was from the beginning.

Are you then walking in the path that births your creation? Have you forgotten the age-long saying, “the sea that forgets its source will dry”?  When you refuse to love your fellow human being, you cut yourself off from your Creator and wither away. Live in love today.

Shalom!

Show Love To Reap Love

One theme that is synonymous with all religion is that of LOVE. Every one of them agrees that it is important and necessary to show love to people around us.

Since the advent of all religions, it is surprising that there is so much to be desired in showing love to others, especially from all those professing these faiths.

One thing that many have not come to know is that they cannot show love in the right way, if they do not have a good understanding of the ways of the MOST HIGH in loving themselves.

The command is clear; LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. In loving ourselves, we show acts of love to our neighbors.

How is this true? When we love ourselves, we are careful not to put poisonous substances in our food; same way we will not put poisonous substances in the public water supply when we know that we will drink from the same source. When we know that something will be injurious to us even if we give it to others, we desist from such acts. In essence, we show love because we love ourselves.

Now, the reason why the act of showing love from this understanding is not enough to remove evil amongst men is because we only have this understanding in just about 10% of the things we do. We always believe that 90% of the things we do will never get back to us. LIE! LIE!! LIE!!!

One of the main principles of Creation is that, ALL OUR ACTS WILL SURELY COME BACK TO US. We will surely reap from whatever we have sown

Therefore, whatever you do today will come back to you. Think twice before doing it.

Why Do People Marry?

Why do people marry?

If you limit it to companionship or ‘to complete’ oneself; then you have set out on the wrong footing.

People marry for many reasons but all the reasons must be geared towards the manifestation of the will of the Creator for mankind.

Marriage can be a rehabilitation centre for a woman. It could also be a place of refuge (either physical or emotional).

Marriage is the tool for perfection of Creation and not about the selfish feelings of a woman or the lust of a man.

DO UNTO OTHERS…

ARE YOU ALIVE?

Daily Devotional for Monday 19th of May, 2019

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. The one not loving his brother stays in death – 1 John 3:14

When we consider the manner in which man was created and it’s consequence, we will perceive that the Creator designed man to be like Himself to function effectively. The effective man has the Spirit of Yahweh which keeps him alive. To be found in Him is to be brought out from death.

What then is the boast of any man to being alive when he is not like the Most High? To be like Yahweh is to imbibe the attribute of the Almighty. Yahweh is love (1 John 4:8) declares the Scripture. If we claim to be a child of Yahweh, we must love as He loves.

Who then is alive? It is the man that loves like Yahweh. When our love for our fellow man is in doubt, we cannot say we are alive. Such a person is still a dead man. The second part of 1 John 3:14 says it clearly: “Anyone who does not love, remain in death”.

It is time for you to search yourself if you are truly alive. Many are deeply dead yet claim to be alive. If you are not showing love to your neighbour, you are DEAD. Show some love today!

Shalom.

THE LOVE FOR SELF

What if I tell you that every of your reaction to issues confronting you show how much you love yourself. That rage of anger, the hot tears flowing down your face, the curses under your breath, the smiles that never fade away, the shout of joy and the likes are expressions of our inner feeling. This feeling is driven by our love for self.

You may be tempted to ask, is it wrong to love myself? It is not wrong to love oneself but it is a problem for us if that love shapes our perception of things happening to us. Our senses decode events based on a program written inside of us, which interprete things on the basis of ‘what is in it for me?’. It is this program that decide whether an event is favourable to us or not. This program is what is called EGO.

Our ego has a powerful control over our emotions. It determines what our reaction will be to events. Anger, joy, happiness, frustrations, disappointments and others are under the control of our ego. When the ego perceives an event as negative, it brings on the negative emotions. If it thinks that an event is positive, we get the positive emotions manifesting in us.

However, the problem with ego is that it never perceives the true reality, since it is programmed to see things as our reality. Not having the true reality is where our problem lies. That is why we end up having to make amends, beg for forgiveness, hurt others, make grievous mistakes and so on. We become imperfect and get into problems often.

What are you to do? Get rid of your ego. Change your mindset. You must develop a new sense through which you can perceive the true reality at all times. That sense must have a program that works on the basis of ‘I am not the beneficiary’. In this way, your response to events is according to how it affect others and not you. With this, there will hardly be a time when things become negative to you and so negative emotions become a thing of the past in your life.

When you have done away with negative emotions in your life, the positive emotions take the whole of you. You life becomes an expression of happiness, joy, fulfilment and satisfaction all the time. This is what the Creator desire for you. Why not seek to let your life be like that, by doing away with self love.

Love others all the time more than you love yourself.

ATTITUDE TOWARDS THE POOR

The designation of Nigeria as World Headquarters of Poverty naturally should have provoked many people who profess to be Bible believers to live a more righteous life.

The central theme of the Bible is LOVE towards the Creator and fellow mankind. This attribute is specifically demanded from the one who is ‘better off’ towards the poor.

In Deuteronomy 24, many verses contain commands to be fair towards the poor and not to take advantage of them. Specifically, verses 19 – 21 asked that we set aside provisions from our possessions for the poor:

Deuteronomy 24:19-21
19 When you are harvesting in your field and you overlook a sheaf, do not go back to get it. Leave it for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow, so that the Yahweh your Elohim may bless you in all the work of your hands.
20 When you beat the olives from your trees, do not go over the branches a second time. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.
21 When you harvest the grapes in your vineyard, do not go over the vines again. Leave what remains for the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.

In the times of the Apostles, the body of believers made it a custom to bring all they had to the Apostles’ feet and distribution was made to everyone as he needs. This arrangement ensured that none of them lacked in the long run (Acts 4:34-37). The bottom line is that the Most High had given unto mankind all that it needs but distributed unevenly for efficient management.

Whatever anyone has, be it Time, Talent, Treasure or Temple, is given to him to manage by the Creator. Yahweh expects us all to ensure that our endowments are used to make our world a pleasant place.

In what way are you helping those in need? What fairness are you showing towards them? Do they mean anything important to you? Dont forget what King David declared in Psalm 41: “Blessed is the man who considers the poor……”

If truly you believe in the reator and you have His Spirit in you, you MUST show love for the poor in our midst. Change your perception towards the poor and the downtrodden today!

Shalom!

NOURISHING YOUR SOUL

Everyone has a body and a soul. What is a soul? The soul is the spiritual or immaterial part of a human being and it is immortal. With the soul, we connect with the Creator because the soul is from Him. It is the soul that can lift us high as we need to go.

Many people do not take cognisance of their soul. They live their life, responding to the demands of the body. With the body they connect with this world leaving out the Essence of the Most High. As the world was ‘without form and void’ at creation; so their life is, without the imput of the soul.

When they clog their life with disjointed activities to please their body, a time will come when they will ask themselves in despair, “Is this what life is all about?”. At that time, they would have lost their peace and happiness.

By acknowledging that within your body is a soul, the soul that can give your life purpose and lift it above the mundane pursuits of everyday life, you begin to put the pieces of your fragmented life in order.

To be a happy, wholesome and healthy human being, your body and soul must work in perfect harmony. This is where the difficulty lies in many people’s pursuit of happiness – the soul and the body are in constant conflict. While the body is basically looking to satisfy its needs of pleasure, the soul is looking for transcendence – ways to unite us with the Creator. Simply put, the body has a desire to receive to please self while the soul’s desire is to receive for the purpose of sharing. We must accept that these two forces are in us and we must do all we can to unite their desires.

While many will seek to create special moments to satisfy the soul’s yearning through spiritual activities, they still fall back into lack of fulfillment and unhappy state when they are confronted with the urges of the body that they have to succumb to.

The only way to unite body and soul is to first accept that the Creator is far higher than our limited selves. We then allow the soul to take charge of the body, disciplining it and making it recognize its true purpose on earth. By this submission of the body, it can then rise to its true prominence when its actions are not to satisfy itself but to bring the divine upon the temporal.

It is then that our daily activities are infused with the Essence of the Creator. No longer are we eating just for eating sake, but we eat to satisfy the Creator. That is how we will handle all our activities. Then, we overcome selfishness and live our life loving our neighbours. By doing so, we are nourishing our souls to attain a state of unending happiness.

True happiness is the fusion of body and soul dedicated to a higher cause, a cause that benefits humankind and gives meaning and inner peace to the individual in the process.

LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF

If your are conversant with the Scriptures, you will know that the many commandments of Yahweh are summarized into two. Love towards the Creator (Yahweh) and love towards your neighbour. The Messiah, Yeshau, stated that on these two commandments hung all the Laws & Prophets.

The commandment to love your neighbour as yourself was mentioned once in the Jewish Bible in Leviticus 19 verse 18, while it was mentioned eight times in the writings of the followers of Yeshua.

Jewish commentaries stated that this one commandment is the summary of the Torah, an assertion Shaul (Paul) repeated in one of his epistles. How come that this simple commandment is so difficult for many to keep?

The simple answer is ‘The Self’. We are so preoccupied with self that the other person’s need and desire is secondary to ours. We see ourselves as more important than others. The acceptable love toward others is that which equates the love we have for ourselves.

This kind of love not only do good things for others but stops us from behaving negatively towards them when they do wrong to us. That is why it is placed with “You shall not avenge nor bear grudge against the children of your people” in the same verse.

Many times we are wronged by others and pushed to retaliate. The issues may not be a big one as we suppose. It could be as simple as a friend refusing to accompany us to a function and we do the same thing when we are asked to follow the friend to another place.

Perfect love is treating others as we will treat ourselves or the way we want to be treated. Show true love today!
